Studio Drift's Franchise Freedom Drone Performance to light up Central Park

Studio DRIFT, known for their mesmerizing drone performance Franchise Freedom, will be showcasing their renowned artwork in New York City’s Central Park later this month.

The artists, Ralph Nauta and Lonneke Gordijn, expressed their excitement about flying Franchise Freedom in Central Park, describing it as a dream come true. They believe that the park, with its diverse cultures and serene environment, provides the perfect setting for people to reconnect with nature amidst the urban jungle.

Franchise Freedom was first premiered in 2017 at Art Basel Miami Beach and has only been staged a few times since then. The upcoming performance in Central Park will be the largest to date, featuring 1,000 drones illuminating the Manhattan sky. The artists have continuously improved their technology, aiming to create a visually impactful experience for the audience.

The performance will take place over the Lake at Central Park on October 21, with three stagings at 7 p.m., 8 p.m., and 9 p.m. A simultaneous livestream, accompanied by a musical performance by Joep Beving, will be broadcasted for those unable to attend in person.
