The Federal Government released 2.000.000 euro for the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) to hire the company that will conduct the emergency reconstruction works of the National Museum in Rio de Janeiro.

Once the company is hired by tender, the first stage will be security works, such as insulation of the site, installation of protection structures to avoid collapses, and reinforcement and coverage of the building structures that have resisted the fire. Interventions are expected to last 180 days.

“As of today, the funds will be in UFRJ's bank account, so they can take the next steps, especially to protect the collection, protect the building, ensure there is no risk of collapse and also support the work of the Federal Police experts," Educational Minister Rossieli Soares explained.
