Crozier Fine Arts Acquires Art Storage and Logistics Leader IFAS as Part of Asian Expansion

Crozier, a global leader in fine arts storage and logistics, has expanded into Asia with its acquisition of IFAS, a leading provider of art storage, logistics, and installation in Hong Kong.

Crozier, a global leader in fine arts storage and logistics, has expanded into Asia with its acquisition of IFAS, a leading provider of art storage, logistics, and installation in Hong Kong.

This recent acquisition marks Crozier’s first in Hong Kong, an important and growing market for the art world. With 30 locations across 11 global markets in the US, Europe and now Asia, Crozier is well positioned to support artists, museums, collectors, institutions, and galleries with the safe movement and storage of art, on a global scale.

This expansion follows the recent launch of Crozier’s sea freight initiative; a bespoke transport shipping service between London / New York and London / Hong Kong. Transporting art by sea is a more sustainable alternative to airfreight and already in high demand by clients seeking more environmentally friendly transport options. Crozier’s door-to-door exclusive artwork custodianship means the art is handled, secured and monitored exclusively by Crozier throughout its journey, offering clients peace of mind that the art is safe and their carbon emissions reduced.

Ted MacLean, Global Head of Crozier and EVP at parent company Iron Mountain comments: “Hong Kong has been at the center of rapid growth of the art market in Asia for a number of years. To be the best partners to our clients, we want to be fully present where they need us to be, which is why we are thrilled to have found the perfect opportunity with IFAS to extend our services in Asia.”

Simon Hornby, General Manager, Europe and Asia, describes the move to Asia as a “pivotal moment” in Crozier’s 46-year history. “It’s always been a privilege to be trusted as custodians of the world’s most precious cultural artefacts, and it’s hugely exciting to now be embedded in Hong Kong’s influential art scene.”

Torsten Hendricks, General Manager of IFAS will continue to lead the team on the ground in Hong Kong: “Having just reached our 15th year anniversary, IFAS is going from strength to strength. We believe Crozier provides the ideal fit for us as they share our passion for protecting and preserving our global, cultural heritage and developing more sustainable solutions for our clients. We are excited to be part of Crozier’s future as this union opens up new possibilities for my team and our clients.”

IFAS’s offices and secure storage facilities are conveniently located in the Kwai Chung District between Hong Kong International Airport and Hong Kong’s Central District and in close proximity to the West Kowloon Cultural District.

Crozier and IFAS share longstanding relationships with many of the world’s most prestigious galleries, auction houses and institutions. By acquiring IFAS, Crozier is able to offer a truly global platform for full-service storage, logistics, and transport, thanks to the backing of its parent company Iron Mountain (NYSE: IRM).

This growth coincides with further expansion for Crozier across the US Southwest with the recent acquisitions of Global Art Transport and Plumb Installations based in Las Vegas, Nevada.
