FEAGA awards 2016

The Federation of European Art Galleries Association ( F.E.A.G.A. ) represents the political interests of over 2000 modern and contemporary art galleries in the EU and Switzerland. Therefore FEAGA is active in the european policy in Brussels, lobbying for issues such as the reduced cultural VAT rate. FEAGA also started an initiative to broaden public interest in the profession of galleries and created the first European Gallery Award. The award ceremony takes place annually in the context of the art fair ART BASEL.

The 2016 Award for the lifetime achievement and creating and directing an exemplary gallery for high standing goes to Bernd Klüser – Galerie Klüser, München. 

Upon the recommendation of the BVDG, Bernd Klüser will be receiving the FEAGA AWARD 2016. This award is presented by the F.E.A.G.A. (Federation of European Art Galleries Association) to honour European galleries outstanding for their exemplary, enduringly influential propagation of art. The award ceremony takes place annually in the context of the art fair ART BASEL. 

For decades now, Bernd Klüser has represented the vanguard on the German art market, and his gallery enjoys an international impact. Born in Wuppertal, Bernd Klüser has made a decisive contribution to Munich’s open-minded acceptance of contemporary fine art.

The Award for creativity and new inspiration as well as for exemplary cooperation with the art community goes to Temnikova & Kasela gallery, Tallinn

Temnikova & Kasela gallery was established in 2010 by Olga Temnikova, a graphic designer and artist with previous experience as gallery director and Indrek Kasela, a creative entrepreneur, philanthropist, cinema owner and film producer. The Gallery project emerged out of necessity to provide professional representation for established and emerging artists from the region and to intensify their international visibility.
