Prominent Figures of the Art World Launch Ad in Dutch Paper Het Parool: Call Ruf Back

Prominent figures of the international art world launched a page-long ad in the Dutch paper, willing Beatrix Ruf back to the Stedelijk Museum.

Prominent figures of the international art world launched a page-long ad in the Dutch paper Het Parool entitled: Roep Ruf Terug (in English, Call Ruf Back), willing Beatrix Ruf back to the Stedelijk Museum for her artistic vision and leadership.  The ad has been submitted by Marina Abramovic, Richard Serra, Michael Raedecker, amongst others.
There was a great deal of controversy regarding Beatrix Ruf in 2017 because of her conflict of interest as director of the Stedelijk Museum and her private consultancy.  The current interim director at Stedelijk, Jan Willem Sieburgh ordered an audit concerning the departure of Beatrix Ruf.  ArtDependence will continue following this story closely for further developments.
