11.08.2017 – 11.03.2018

Félix Vallotton, La Blanche et la Noire, 1913, Öl auf Leinwand, 114 x 147 cm, Dauerleihgabe, Hahnloser/Jaeggli Stiftung. Kunstmuseum Bern

The works from the Hahnloser Collection, enhance the Kunstmuseum Bern’s collection with high-quality works of art. This show at the Kunstmuseum Bern will be a highlight of its exhibition program this year. It not only conveys the most comprehensive impression of the collection to date. But in addition lucidly illustrates its importance for the reception of modern art in Switzerland, displaying the extent of Hahnloser’s influence with his pioneering collection on the collecting activities of the Kunstmuseum Bern.

Over one hundred works of art will be on view as loans at the Kunstmuseum Bern and, in a first presentation, augmented with choice loans from private collections and museums. The overall goal is to emphasize the international significance of the collection and its relevance for the Kunstmuseum Bern.
