Unseen Photo Fair: 18-27 September Over the past three years, Unseen has established an acclaimed photography fair, as well as an on-site festival programme at the Westergasfabriek in Amsterdam. For the 2015 edition, Unseen is proud to introduce Unseen Festival – an extended festival programme in the city that celebrates photography in all its forms. Unseen Festival is a 10-day celebration of photography in Amsterdam. From the 18th to the 27th of September, Unseen collaborates with many of the city’s institutions, academies, artists, and initiatives using photography in innovative and unconventional ways to create a programme that is sure to challenge, excite and inspire.

Bacon, O’Keeffe, Rauschenberg, Nash – among highlights of Tate’s 2016 exhibition programme Tate has announced highlights of its 2016 exhibition programme, which features major exhibitions devoted to some of the most prominent artists of the twentieth century: Francis Bacon at Tate Liverpool, Georgia O’Keeffe and Robert Rauschenberg at Tate Modern, and Paul Nash at Tate Britain. Paul Gauguin’s voyage to Tahiti will be the subject of work by two contemporary artists in an exhibition at Tate St Ives.

UBS announces Annie Leibovitz global exhibition tour An international tour of newly commissioned work by world-renowned photographer Annie Leibovitz will launch in London in January 2016. It will travel to 10 global cities in 12 months; Tokyo, San Francisco, Hong Kong, Singapore, Mexico City, Istanbul, Frankfurt, New York, and Zurich.

Danjiang Bridge, Taipei, Taiwan. R.O.C. Zaha Hadid Architects, working with Leonhardt, Andrä & Partner and Sinotech Engineering Consultants, have won the international competition to design the new Danjiang Bridge in Taipei for the Directorate General of Highways, Taiwan, R.O.C. Located at the mouth of Tamsui River that flows through the capital Taipei, the Danjiang Bridge is integral to the infrastructure upgrading program of northern Taiwan.

Stephan Balkenhol working on large outdoor sculpture German sculptor Stephan Balkenhol just finished his work on a large outdoor sculpture. The larger-than-life figure represents a kneeling but upward looking man dressed in a white shirt and black trousers. It is 5.70 metres high and weighs nearly 3 tons. Originally Balkenhol had designed the figure for the Freedom and Unity Monument in Berlin in 2010.

Art Basel appoints Noah Horowitz as Director Americas Art Basel has recently announced that Noah Horowitz is appointed to the new position of Director Americas for Art Basel, starting in August 2015. Based in the United States, Horowitz will direct Art Basel's Miami Beach show moving forward, further strengthen Art Basel's relationships with galleries, collectors, artists, museums and institutions from the Americas, and promote them throughout Art Basel's activities worldwide. Horowitz joins Art Basel's Executive Committee – led by Marc Spiegler at a global level – alongside Adeline Ooi, Director Asia; Marco Fazzone, Director Resources and Finance; and Patrick Foret, Director Business Initiatives.

SINGAPORE BIENNALE 2016 Dates Announced The Singapore Art Museum has recently announced the dates for the 2016 edition of the Singapore Biennale, the country's pre-eminent platform for international dialogue in contemporary art. Commissioned by the National Arts Council, the Singapore Biennale will return for its fifth edition from 28 October 2016 to 26 February 2017. Singapore Art Museum will once again take on the role of organiser of the Biennale.

Alex Farquharson appointed new Tate Britain Director Alex Farquharson is going to take up the appointment of Tate Britain Director in late autumn 2015. Alex Farquharson (45) commented: "I am delighted to be joining Tate as Director of Tate Britain. As the home of 500 years of British art, Tate Britain has a unique and fascinating position in the cultural life of the nation. I look forward to working with a highly skilled and experienced team of curators to share these histories with audiences of all kinds."

Edinburgh Art Festival 30 July - 30 August 2015 Edinburgh Art Festival (EAF) opens July 30, 2015 with more than 40 exhibitions across 30 of Edinburgh's museums, galleries and artist-run spaces, including seven new commissions as part of the 2015 Commissions Programme. As the UK’s largest annual festival of visual arts, attracting nearly 300,000 attendances in 2014, the programme combines ambitious presentations of Scottish and international contemporary art alongside major solo and survey shows of artists from the 20th century and historic movements.

Guggenheim and Dior Announce Dates for the 2015 Guggenheim International Gala Benefit Events on November 4 and 5 Honor Artists On Kawara (in memoriam), Monir Shahroudy Farmanfarmaian, and Doris Salcedo. The 2015 Guggenheim International Gala (GIG) will take place on November 4 and 5, 2015, and for the third consecutive year will be presented by Dior.
