Art Basel in Miami is open! In the American show, 267 leading galleries from North America, Latin America, Europe, Asia and Africa show significant works from the masters of Modern and contemporary art, as well the new generation of emerging stars. Paintings, sculptures, installations, photographs, films, and editioned works of the highest quality are on display in the main exhibition hall. Ambitious large‐scale artworks, films and performances become part of the city's outdoor landscape at nearby Collins Park and SoundScape Park.

Creative proposals unveiled for lighting London’s Bridges Proposals by six international teams, representing seventy-three artists, architects, designers, planners and engineers from Asia, Europe, North America and South America were unveiled in the Illuminated River Exhibition, a free exhibition running until 29 November at the Royal Festival Hall.

20 years of Apple’s design in a newly released book Apple has announced the release of a new hardbound book chronicling 20 years of Apple’s design, expressed through 450 photographs of past and current Apple products. “Designed by Apple in California,” which covers products from 1998’s iMac to 2015’s Apple Pencil, also documents the materials and techniques used by Apple’s design team over two decades of innovation.

Museum Receives Gift of Five Sculptures from Cy Twombly Foundation The Philadelphia Museum of Art announced yesterday the acquisition of five major sculptures by Cy Twombly, one of the foremost American artists of the 20th century. This generous gift of the Cy Twombly Foundation will make these works, which were initially selected for exhibition at the Museum in 2011 by the artist himself, a permanent part of the Museum’s collection.

Albert Pinya: The Time is Now Do you know Albert Pinya? If you don’t recognize this name, you’re going to want to pay attention. Pinya is one of the most celebrated members of the new generation of Spanish painters, born in the 1980s. Above all, his work is characterized by its constant questioning of morality and human behavior. Combining elements that are equally tragic, absurd, grotesque, decadent, ridiculous and irreverent, which are linked at times to an ironic vision, which is comical in other times, or a little naïve in other occasions or even gruesome sometimes, Pinya works to take us all a step closer to the here and now.

Curator Stefano Collicelli Cagol asks: What is Experimental? At Artissima Art fairs are unifying: they bring together artworks, and they bring together people. The benefits of attending an art fair, therefore, extend to a social and educational experience. Artissima, in particular, places a lot of emphasis on the connectivity of art world participants and art lovers. Ever in search for innovative initiatives, and in the interest of asking the important questions, Artissima this year included a series of talks, titled What is Experimental. These talks are being led by Stefano Collicelli Cagol, currently curator for Norway’s Trondheim kunstmuseum.
