Second Public Session on Art Robbery at the Drents Museum: where are those stolen Treasures?

Today, Wednesday July 30, is the second public session on the art robbery of the Drents Museum.

This hearing will be held in the courts of Assen, Netherlands. All prime suspects, all three of them from Heerhugowaard, are for the first time in court. This is reported by NH News.

The Dutch police has done everything to find the stolen art treasures from the Drents Museum. Unfortunately with no result. Suspects Douglas W. and Bernhard Z. were already in court in early May 2025. They did not say anything about the stolen Rumanian treasures, more about the way they were treated themselves.

The Prosecution (OM) is convinced that W. and Z., together with Jan B., have committed the robbery. B. appears for the first time in court, he told an undercover agent that W. is the master brain. W. left after the art robbery to hide the helmet somewhere. The intention was to start selling the art treasures, according to the Public Prosecution Service.

The Public Prosecution announced after the first public hearing on 9 May that the stolen art is hidden somewhere. The value of the objects was first estimated at 6 million euros, but according to experts, the cultural-historical significance of the art treasures is much greater.

Motor gang Hardliners would have been involved in the art robbery. The art theft would have been carried out Commissioned by the Romanian underworld. The Prosecution has not yet talked about these rumors. However, it will be clear this afternoon whether the pre-trial detention of the three suspects will be extended. The trial starts this afternoon at 3 p.m.
