The trustees of The National Gallery in London have appointed Hannah Rothschild as the new chair of its board.
Mark Getty, the current chair of the board whose terms end in 2015 , said Rothschild has been an outstanding board member for more then 5 years. She is appointed for 2 year, eligible for renewal in 2017.
Hannah Rothschild is a writer, a filmmaker and a company director. Her first novel, 'The Improbability of Love', will be published by Bloomsbury in May 2015 and in the USA by Knopf in September 2015.
Her award winning documentaries have been shown on the BBC and HBO.
