The Venus of Rags rises Again in Piazza Municipio in Naples, Italy

A symbol of resistance, hope and rebirth. This is the powerful message conveyed by the new Venus of Rags, the famous work by Michelangelo Pistoletto reinstalled and inaugurated in Piazza Municipio in Naples.

After the fire in 2023 that hit the first installation the artist expressed his desire to rebuild the work. To confirm the link between the work and the community, after the fire, the Other Naples launched a crowdfunding campaign - Let's rebuild it! - which the Municipality welcomed and which received the support of many citizens.

The new Venus strengthens Naples' contemporary importance and is part of a broader program that aims to be an example of how contemporary art is included in cities, finding original forms of urban regeneration capable of involving the entire community.

The work will be exhibited in Piazza Municipio for three months, at the end of which it will find its definitive location. The Church of S. Pietro ad Aram is an option, a place of great historical value on the outskirts of Naples.
